I know, it sounds like a strange question, right? Well, if you've been following some of the fascinating experiments taking place over the last few years, you may not think so. The science of psychical research has moved from the laboratory to the Labrador in recent experiments designed to explore the potential that our pets may be far more intuitively connected to ourselves than we might have previously believed! How? It's quite simple. Let's take a look at some of the qualities a "clairvoyant" canine may exhibit, and see if you might just have a special pet sitting next to you right now. Read on!
Let's look at the easy stuff first. Have you ever noticed your dog seems to know when you are coming home? Is he happily waiting by the door...eagerly awaiting your arrival EVEN when you thought you were sneaking in?
Some university studies, designed to study this specific phenomena, have shown that many dogs do just that, even when the owner arrives homes unexpectedly. In one exceptional example, experiments performed by Dr. Rupert Sheldrake of Cambridge University, showcased one especially astute pup who spent 70% of his time by the window when his owner was on her way home, versus only 20% when she was not.
Similarly 50% of dog owners claim to have observed this "knowing" phenomena in their own pooches, and 30% of CAT owners have affirmed similar sentiments with their feline friends. So the question becomes, is it simply wishful thinking, or - maybe a sensitivity to schedule, or even a higher level of sensory sensitivity to sound, or smell that gives us the illusion that our dogs know when we are coming home? Well, there's only one way to find out, right?
There are simple, fun experiments you can carry out, right now to test your own connection to your dog. Let someone watch your dog while your away. Have that person call you at a random time on your excursion out, and "TELL" you to come home. What does your dog do? Does he or she get excited, go to the door, or window and wait...or not?
How about setting up a small video camera and recording the house while you're away. Make notes as to your leaving times, as well as when you DECIDE to come home. Keep good notes, and compare and contrast your dogs behavior while you're gone, as well as when you start heading back! Sounds like fun, right? It is! And informative, exciting and it just may totally transform the entire way you look at your already loving relationship with your pet. (and who knows what else!)
The bonds that connect us all might run much deeper, and in far more powerfully profound ways than we imagine. Remember - a small window in the wonderful world of interconnectedness, even if simply with our favorite four legged friends, has profound implications on the nature of ALL of our relationships! So have some fun, share your affection, and your results with other dog lovers everywhere. Who knows...you just might make him famous!
