Characteristics of the Zodiac Venus in Virgo

By Victor Epand

In an astrological chart, the planet Venus is associated with how a person expresses their self in their relationships- especially in love, attraction and marriage. It describes how beauty is appreciated and interpreted by the person and also how they relate to others. The sign of the Venus is often the same as the Sun since they can never be more than forty five degrees from each other. In the cases when the signs are identical, the behavior the person has towards people in general translates into their romantic life. If the signs are different, there is a disparity between how they treat people in general and how they treat people they are romantically involved with.

For those who are born with their Venus in Virgo, there is a tendency to be overly critical of emotions and people. They like to be cautious with romantic notions. Shy, they can hide behind a cold demeanor to protect the deep feelings they do store inside. It is hard for them to operate in impulsive, unknowable situations and that is what dating usually involves. They will often be accused of living inside their own head and not coming out to connect with others often enough. It isn't a purposeful act. They are more comfortable in their own thoughts than just about anywhere else.

They are charming in a subdued way but they never make a move until they are absolutely certain they are doing the right thing. Natural organizers, they have a tendency to put people and emotions into neat little categories as well. Fair or not, if they have put a person into a negative category they are unlikely to be moved into a more positive light. These people love black and white, not understanding what goes on in gray areas. Therefore they are likely to perceive situations as being simpler than they actually are. That can be a bit infuriating for a partner who is trying to get them to explore the depths with them. If a partner is seeking bold declarations of love and undying passion, they should find someone whose Venus is not in Virgo.

Love to these people is an act of devotion and commitment with fidelity mandatory for a relationship. Though they can be involved romantically, it is hard for them to show it with big displays. Their way of expressing that they care for someone is by taking care of the practical aspects of life like bills, preparing meals or fixing the garbage disposal. They really don't understand why people might prefer flowers, poetry and candle light. The rent needs to be paid, doesn't it? Despite this, they treat their mate very well and keep a neat appearance and are extraordinarily polite. They expect the same from their partner. They would rather live alone than to be with someone who doesn't meet their expectations. A solitary life wouldn't be a difficult adjustment for them since they essentially live that way even when other people are around.
