In this article we're going to look at some of the best magic tricks that you can find out about for free on the internet. I've done the hard work for you and put what I think are the two best ones all in one place for you. There's loads of free info out there but sometimes it's hard sorting the good stuff out from the rest - so here you go:
David Blaine Levitation
Sorry to break it to you but this doesn't involve any complex moves or anything like some levitation tricks, it's just a big camera trick. It's done with a crane and the audience responses you see when you watch it on TV are from people in a studio that only see what the camera wants them to see. This is still an awesome trick but I'm afraid it's not the sort of thing you can just do off the cuff.
David Blaine 360 Degree Arm Twist
In this trick you twist your arm 360 degrees counter clockwise while your participant also tries to do the same thing but fails. This is a really simple trick but can cause a bit of pain if you're not careful (to you that is and not the participant).
Make sure you are wearing a long sleeve shirt for this trick, and then get set up by twisting your left arm about 270 degrees clockwise so that it's almost in the same position as normal, with the palm facing up. Once you've done this get the participant to get into the same position as you and ask them to twist their arm counter clockwise. After they've strained and tried for a few seconds say something like, "No, you need to do it like this" and proceed to twist your arm 360 degrees counter clockwise back to its original position.
I know that I always keep going on about this to different people, but you have to keep the practice up if you want to be able to do any of these tricks. Admittedly you probably can't do the first trick, but then that just goes to show that not everything is as it seems. However this second trick I believe you can get going within a few days and then really start to freak people out.
So what are you waiting for, get practising!
