Past Lives - Have We All Lived Before?

By Tana Hoy

Have you ever have visited a place where you have never been to before, yet the place felt familiar? Have you ever met someone for the first time, yet felt like you were long lost friends?

The reason you have these experiences is because you have already visited there before, and you have already met before but in a past life. Though your conscious mind doesn't always remember, your subconscious mind never forgets.

All of our past life memories are stored in our subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is part of the soul and it travels with you from lifetime to lifetime, entering with you into each new physical form that you take with each new incarnation.

Past Lives in Mainstream Media

Reincarnation has always been a topic of fascination. But recently, the topic has hit mainstream, with an entire episode of Oprah being devoted to the subjecting with the discussion of "soul journeys" on her XM Radio channel.

This new found popularity for past lives came from an experience that a psychiatrist had when he hypnotized a patient. While in the hypnotic state, past life memories that were stored in the patient's subconscious mind were awakened and she gave stunning details of her past life experiences.

Gaining insight and information about reincarnation, is one of the goals when entering a séance rooms, popular among Spiritualist circles.

Séance rooms are a special place where a Psychic Medium gathers with a group of people for the sole purpose of contacting and communing with the other side. A lot of what we know about reincarnation today has been learned in séance rooms.

Reincarnation Proof in Buddhist Culture

We also have learned about past lives from the Buddhist lamas, who accept reincarnation as a definite fact.

Before a Buddhist Llama dies, he will write a letter stating when, where and to what family he will be reborn.

On that special date stated in the letter, monks from the temple go searching for the new born child, finding him exactly where he said he was to be born. With the family's permission, he is taken back to the temple and raised there. Families never refuse his being taken to the temple to be raised once they realize who their son actually is!

This young boy is first tested by being lead to a room where a table sets before him. On this table will be four or five pairs of glasses, four or five rice bowls, four or five pairs of shoes and so on. These are just a few of the many articles he will be required to choose from.

Only one item from each selection was owned by him when he was alive before.
The young boy must accurately choose all items that were his before he died the last time around. If he makes one mistake, he is rejected.

In all of the centuries of Tibetan Buddhism, the young boy has never been wrong. This same tradition is still practiced today. The Dali Lama would have gone through this exact ritual when he was a boy.

This is just one of the many astonishing examples of the proof that exists verifying the proof of past lives. Many interesting and documented case studies can be found in books and online.

If you have ever wondered about the possibility of past lives, a little research may end any doubts that you may have had.
