I am currently in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia performing research for a travel-writing job and enjoying the historical reenactments. It is truly amazing how history repeats itself. Two nights ago, I saw an evening performance called "Cry Witch." The show is an hour-long recreation of a witch trial that took place in Williamsburg in 1706. The Age of Reason was just beginning, and courts were no longer impressed by "spectral evidence," or testimony that involved run-ins with ghosts or spirits.
