Candle Magic - How Does Candle Magic Work?

By Tom H Alan

Casting a magic spell is not only done through magic wands as television series and movie franchises would lead you to believe. For those educated in spells and magic, candle magic is one of those things that are severely neglected and overlooked, but are so practical and useful that one might consider using them to better and improve their everyday lives even if they do not believe in such things like magic and spells or supernatural powers.
What is candle magic?
Candle magic is one of the most simple forms of magic and can be done practically anywhere with very limited resources available. Candle burning is very practical in its nature because it does not involve any expensive artifacts and any fancy rituals and ceremonies to accomplish. It is so simple, that most people forget the fact that one of the most common modern-day practices of candle burning rituals is still being done all over the world spanning all ages without any form of discrimination or malice - the ceremonial blowing of a birthday candle usually on a birthday cake.
How does candle magic work?
Candle magic is actually considered sympathetic magic, which is basically a principle that channels the power of attraction, or "like attracts like". For most experts and practitioners, candle burning is basically a medium in which an individual focuses their energy and will in order to manifest their greatest dreams and desires. While most of the uninformed public relate candle burning rituals and ceremonies to that of black magic or dark magic, but that is not what candle burning practices are made for.
Candle magic spells and tools you might need
There are many different methods available to an individual interested in learning more about candle magic, and they can usually be performed using two methods:
  • The simple method. Is basically performed by lighting a candle in a quiet area and concentrating hard on what you desire while chanting simple key phrases over and over. This can last for as brief or as long as an individual needs
  • The advanced method. This may involve a lot of preparation and a lot of different tools such as herbs and nature products that will help the practitioner achieve the level of concentration he or she desires. This method may also last for a number of days or weeks, depending on the desire of the individual
The color of a candle usually have bearing such as red for love and strength and green for money and fertility but it is always a good practice to just choose the color white as substitute for all of the colors. It is also very important that an unused stick of candle be lit up to signify the message of "purity" and "virginity" in the ceremony.
Best books on candle magic
If you are interested in Candle magic, then the best reference will always be books that concentrate on the different spell and magic incantations revolving around candles. Here are a number of different books that might be of interest to the candle magic enthusiast:
Books by Tina Ketch:
  • Candle Lighting Encyclopedia Volume 1. Not all acts of candle lighting should originate from casting a spell and magic incantations, and that is what Tina Ketch is trying to prove with her book. In this candle lighting book, she teaches the practicality and use of candle lighting as well as the different methods and techniques to light candles to manifest your desires as well as increase your mood. It concentrates on an individual generating his or her own personal brand of magic, increasing the quality of life and designed to expand the areas of an individual's life.
  • Candle Lighting Encyclopedia Volume 2. This is the second volume in the candle lighting series of Tina Ketch, which completely continues and brings forward brave and bold ideas of the effects of candle lighting to our lives. It focuses on freedom of thought as well as laying focus on the inherent capability of man to not only dream, but achieve his dreams. The Author makes it clear that while she does not mind her books being categorized as that dealing with spells and magic, she makes it clear that most of the information in the book is about practical uses of candles and its effects on our daily lives.
  • Candle Lighting Ephemeris for the 21st Century. This book is made to be read in unison with Ms. Ketch's other books, as it removes all of the guesswork when it comes to candle lighting techniques and ceremonies, teaching you how to properly know what candle to light and when to light it at the exact moment when you need it. It is designed with the modern user in mind as well, so you can get rid of those old-fashioned rituals and beliefs that are closely related to black magic
  • Candle Lighting Workbook. Without jumping to such exercises as spells for magic, Ms. Ketch delves into the practical uses of candles for the modern era, as well as the effects of Candle magic in an individual's life cycle.
Books by Raymond Buckland:
  • Practical Candle burning Rituals. In the tradition of dealing with the supernatural, Raymond Buckland provides practical knowledge to the individual who is interested in learning spell and magic through the art of candle burning. In this book, he provides practical and easy to understand instructions for magic and spells that range in purposes such as love spells for the romantic individuals as well as healing spells for those who want to rid themselves of illnesses. As an addition to the practical guides in the book, he also includes a section which completely deals with spell and magic without the use of candles if an individual does not have access to candles.
  • Advanced Candle Magick. This is the follow-up book to Buckland's first Candle magic book, and it picks of where the first book left off and ushers you to the next level of magic and spells dedicated for candle burning rituals. These are new rituals and spells that are fit for practical everyday use but are very advanced and powerful. The practical advice includes different advanced techniques such as the use of colors and astrology to charge your magic and spells and at the same time make use of other magic tools that are available for the candle magic wielder.
Books by Keith Morgan:
  • Simple Candle Magick. Everybody needs an introduction to everything, especially if you are going to dabble in the mystic arts of spells and magic. This book by Keith Morgan is the perfect introductory book that will teach a beginner all of the basics of Candle magic, fully explained and illustrated. With the help of this book, any beginner will be casting a magic spell in no time.

Chinese Astrology 2012

By Rebeca Rambal

According to Chinese astrology, 2012 is the Year of the Water Dragon, which is expected to be filled with excitement, intensity, exhilaration and unpredictability. In terms of Feng Shui, 2012 will be an important year for meditations and visualizations as we aim towards leading a more spiritual way of life.
Use this year to really get rid of the clutter in your life, your mind and your home.
Let's see what each Chinese zodiac animal can expect in 2012:
Rat
Years 1900, 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Boar
Rat people are clever, quick-witted, sharp, funny and charming. They make good friends because they are loyal and generous. Because the Rat and the Dragon relate well to each other, the Rat is expected to have a fairly smooth year in 2012. Rat people should expect some healthy competition during this Year of the Dragon 2012, especially in terms of their career. Money will also be steady this year. If they are not married, it will be a good year to find their mates. It's important that Rat people exercise more in 2012 to guard their health.
Ox
Years 1901, 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Rat, not Ox
The Ox is a powerful zodiac animal which reflects on the people born in Ox years. They tend to be goal-oriented, hardworking leaders. Because the Ox and the Dragon aren't very compatible, Ox people should brace themselves for a bit of difficulty this year. They should take extra care with their health in 2012 and should also expect very heavy and stiff competition in their careers. Ox people should not make risky financial investments and watch their spending. Money luck will be below average. Ox men will be luckier in love than women Ox.
Tiger
Years 1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Ox, not Tiger
Tiger people have strong leadership qualities, are charming, intense and ready to pounce. This year, Tiger people may have several unexpected opportunities to create wealth. However, they should avoid getting emotional or being stubborn in the Year of the Dragon, as this could lead to their getting hurt in relationships, and things could end up working against them. The Tigers luck in money will vary throughout the year. They should be much more vigilant of their expenditures and investments.
Tiger people should watch out for confrontations with their partners, as it will be a difficult year for love. If they don't have a partner, it won't be the ideal year to find one. Tigers should watch what they eat and take care of their health.
Rabbit
Years 1903, 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Tiger, not Rabbit
Individuals born in the Year of the Rabbit enjoy being surrounded by their family and friends, and keep close to home. Rabbit people can expect to have some very good opportunities to study in 2012. Because of the Rabbit's compatibility with the Dragon, things should go fairly smoothly for Rabbit people this year. Rabbit people's career luck will be steady, but not booming. In regards to money, they should avoid gambling and making risky investments. However, it will be a good year for love, but they should avoid any unnecessary arguments. In regards to their health, Rabbits should exercise and eat well to stay healthy throughout the year.
Dragon
Years 1904, 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000
If you were born before February 4, then your astrological sign is Rabbit, not Dragon
Dragon people are full of energy, warmth and charisma. These characteristics make them lucky in love, but also somehow egotistical. Dragon people can expect to have good opportunities for studying new things this year. However, they should try not to be too stubborn at work, and should expect to face some competition in their careers. They will have to work harder and avoid confrontations. The Year of the Dragon 2012, will be an average year for Dragon people as Chinese astrology says it's not good when a Dragon meets another Dragon. So, 2012 will not be a very prosperous year for them. This year can bring a steady flow of money to Dragons but they will need to work hard to keep their money because their wealth will not be increasing. If they are single, they should not rush into a relationship this year, and they should definitely avoid arguments with their existing partners. With all the pressure from career and money, their health might be affected by anxiety, so they will need to eat well and rest. Practicing meditation might also help.
Snake
Years: 1905, 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Dragon, not Snake
Snake people may enjoy some unexpected opportunities for increasing their wealth in 2012. However, individuals born in the Year of the Snake should avoid being stubborn as this could lead to things working against them. All in all, it's going to be an average year for seductive, generous, introverted, smart and charming Snake people. They should try to be supportive of their coworkers since this extra effort might bring good things to them. They should be careful on how they manage their money. Although their money luck will be steady, they shouldn't abuse it and get greedy. Love will be good to people born in the Year of the Snake, but they shouldn't push their existing relationships. But in general, it will be a better year for friendships and social life.
Horse
Years: 1906, 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Snake, not Horse
Horse people are energetic, wise with money, self-reliant and enjoy love, intimacy and traveling. They also love to roam wild and free. Individuals born in the Year of the Horse can expect some wealth opportunities and have good luck in their careers in 2012. Horses will do well in the Year of the Dragon, but it would be to their benefit to follow the guidance of the Dragons in their lives. Money will be steady this year, but they will need to manage it wisely in order to increase their wealth. Horses will have good love relationships in 2012, but they should not ask too much of their partners. They need to be careful at work and when driving to avoid accidents. It's wise for them to avoid violence and conflict, since this year can bring injuries to Horses.
Goat
Years: 1907, 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Horse, not a Goat
Goat people are creative thinkers who love to wander. People born in the Year of the Goat can expect to have some opportunities for both wealth creation and studying in 2012. However, their year will be generally average because there's no special affiliation between the Goat and the Dragon. Goat people need to respect the opinions of team members and should not have any arguments or disputes. As long as they remember to watch their words and behavior in the office, everything will go smoothly. Social relationships should be good for Goats this year. If they are single, they should practice more social activities so they have lots of opportunities to meet new friends. If they are in love or married, they need to pay attention to their relationship. Goat people's health will be fine in the year of the Dragon. However, they should always eat properly, have a good exercise routine and sleep well to avoid having any major health problems.
Monkey
Years: 1908, 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Goat, not Monkey
Monkey people love pranks and making mischief. Individuals born in the Year of the Monkey should refrain their stubbornness this year to avoid things working against them. Monkey and Dragon enjoy a good affiliation with each other, which means that Monkey people can expect a smooth year in 2012. Since the Monkey and the Dragon have a very close relationship, the careers of Monkey people will flourish and they won't have too much pressure at work. Networking is important for Monkeys this year, because new relationships can bring all kinds of money opportunities for them in 2012. In general, they will have a stable income. Love relationships for Monkey people will go well in 2012, because of the attraction between the Monkey and the Dragon, especially during the Rat month, which is December. If they are single, then they should attend more social events and they might have a chance to find their soulmate this year. Monkey people should not only care about their own health, but also be vigilant of the health of all their family members.
Rooster
Years: 1909, 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Monkey, not Rooster
People born in the Year of the Rooster have a reputation for being overconfident and even cocky. Rooster people should take extra care of their health in 2012. However, this shouldn't be any cause for alarm as individuals born in the Year of the Rooster can expect to have a fairly smooth year, because the Rooster and the Dragon have a particularly good affiliation with each other. Roosters can expect prosperity, wealth, power in their career and enjoy a good reputation. Love will come to them. If they are single and want to meet someone, then this is the best year to increase their social activities. But they still have to pay attention to their safety and health to prevent accidents in the Year of Dragon.
Dog
Years: 1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Rooster, not Dog
Dog people are generally forgiving and loyal. People born in the Year of the Dog, should expect some difficulties in 2012. Their opportunities for wealth will not be great this year. They should also take special care of their health, and avoid being too obstinate in order to avoid stirring up trouble. Dog people won't get much support in their jobs. They will tend to encounter obstacles at work, and they should avoid having any arguments with coworkers or superiors at the office. It's not a good time to think about changing jobs. It's important for Dog people to have a good financial plan to downsize their spending and to reserve their emergency fund. If they are in love, then they need to be careful when situations rise that might affect their relationship and make it unstable. Dog people need to maintain their focus to avoid any disasters that may happen due to neglect.
Boar
Years: 1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007
If your birthday is before February 4, then your astrological sign is Dog, not Boar.
Individuals born in the Year of the Boar are generally considered lucky people. However, Boar people shouldn't expect to be too lucky in 2012 as this will be an average year for them. In addition, Boar people should avoid getting too emotional this year, since this could lead to their getting hurt in relationships. Boars will encounter some pressure in their jobs. Money luck for Boar people will be unstable in 2012. Money will come and go. Boars will need to slow down in their investments and think twice before joining new ventures. If Boars want to look for a closer love relationship, then the Year of the Dragon is the time to try.

Astrology Forecast for February 2012 - General Tendencies for All Sun Signs

By Janet Moon

February looks like a very sweet month. We have 29 days, and only about 5 of them may prove to be somewhat difficult. And, I'm sorry to say, Valentine's Day could be one of them. Mars will also be in retrograde this entire month, which may leave some us a little tired (especially those with dominate Aries or Virgo in their charts). But all in all, we should find that February is a very productive and inventive month.
February begins with one of those difficult days with Venus at an opposition to Mars. Some of us may be extra sensitive, and others may be asking too much of us. But, luckily by the time Neptune enters Pisces on Friday, February 3rd, all of that will be ancient history. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, February 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, could also be very good days for psychic readings or getting any kind of professional help with Neptune finally entering his home sign. Neptune will remain in Pisces until Spring 2025. Those with dominate Pisces in their charts, this is going to be your decade!
The week of February 6th may begin a little rough with Saturn turning retrograde and the Full Moon in Leo on Tuesday, February 7th. There could be drama with a capital D, and some will be absolutely overwhelmed by the chaos. The smoke should begin to clear by early Wednesday, February 8th, with Venus entering Aries and teaming up with Uranus. There's a good chance we will be ready to start something new, maybe even a new relationship.
Celebrate Valentine's Day early, like the weekend of February 10th. Or, even celebrate late on the weekend of February 17th. But, keep your expectations low for February 14th. There could be disputes, disagreements, arguments, and even fights that day.
The week of February 13th will begin on a positive note. On Monday, February 13, people will be practical, and we may find a new seriousness to any project we undertake. But, on Tuesday, February 14th, Venus will be approaching a negative aspect with Pluto. There could be disagreements with loved ones, and some will be pulling out the "nuclear weapons." There could also be money problems, so watch your expenses carefully. The battle should be over by Thursday, February 16th, and we will be ready to look at the bright side of life again. It will be a great day for travel and new ideas.
The weekend of February 17th should bring a renewed seriousness to everything we do. We could find ourselves very busy, and we should find that we accomplish much. Our imaginations may also be inspired this weekend, and creative projects could just flow out of us.
We will be under the Pisces New Moon on Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday), February 21st. It could be a very magical day, and some of us may actually witness a miracle. Our last difficult day of February, 2012 will be late Wednesday through early Thursday (eastern standard time), February 22nd and 23rd, with a conflict between Mercury and Mars. There will be verbal disputes, and there could be some conflict between the sexes.
The disputes and conflicts should be settled by Friday, February 24th, and the weekend could bring creative ideas into our minds with the Sun winking at Jupiter. We will be ready to start working on some of our dreams. Those dreams will get a second wind on Monday and Tuesday, February 27th and 28th, and there's a good possibility that we will get others to help us. February ends on Leap Day, February 29th, under the Gemini Moon. Those of us who pay our rent monthly may be out celebrating the free day!
March will have a few ups and downs, but there will be a very positive aspect blessing us all for a few days around mid month. Check back next month to find out more.

Do Psychics TRICK People?

By Danny Fredricks

Do psychics trick people? Are they reliable? Can you trust the information that comes through during a reading, or is it the byproduct of cold reading techniques, or out and out TRICKERY instead? In this article we are going to take a quick and easy look at some common questions about psychic tricks, and learn how to quickly identify when a reader is employing methods that are less than honest. Curious to know more? Continue reading as we take a closer look below!

Do psychics trick people... or is that just something the skeptics, cynics and debunkers want us to believe?

Truthfully? SOME psychics certainly use tricks. I'd be lying to say that I haven't encountered readers who seemed to be more skilled in asking leading questions, than actually providing genuine intuition, information or insight. But honestly, fake "psychics" who rely on trickery or deceit for their readings are very easy to spot.

They often throw out broad generalities, rather than specifics.

If they DO offer specific information, it's only after reverse engineering their way to it by asking a lot of general questions first. (such as throwing out letters of the alphabet, and then finding a common name that fits)

Cold reading is certainly a form of trickery and deceit, and simply involves reading your body language or appearance, and deducing facts about you that are pretty easy to establish (age, marital situation, socioeconomic background, etc).

One of the EASIEST ways to avoid getting a deceptive reading is to do it by phone! (as cold reading, especially body language and appearance driven deductions are very difficult, if not impossible)

The absolute easiest way to avoid getting tricked during a psychic reading is actually to prepare for the reading, like you would for any other important meeting.

Write down a few questions.

Have concrete GOALS for what you want to get out of the reading.

Make a short list of important things in your life that a good psychic, or accurate empath should know

Do your due diligence before you call, or visit a psychic as well. (read some reviews, check out some ratings, and see what other people have reported along the way)

Remember though... DON'T overdo it, either. I've seen people spend weeks or months reading ratings, reviews and write ups of different psychics and services, and to be totally honest with you... this is NOT a good expenditure of your time. (as the best readings are a function of rapport, and connection, and the only way to know if you have that is to actually speak to the reader one on one!)

Lastly... enjoy yourself! A good psychic reading should be fun and entertaining as well. (and if you choose properly, it will be... I promise!)
