Using Psy Cards For Spiritual Guidance

By Kirsty McKay

Psy cards are often used as a tool to do card readings and are generally believed to be easier to understand than traditional tarot cards. PSY cards are a deck of 40 intuitive cards illustrated by Maggie Kneen. Each card has an image and a name. Individuals are asked to shuffle the cards and with the images face down so they cannot be identified they are asked to choose 10 cards which they feel most drawn to.

Often our own guides and guardian angels encourage us instinctively to draw the cards most significant at the time and to which they want to use in reaching out to us to give a message or provide guidance.

Card 1: This provides information about our character and personality traits.

Cards 2 - 4: Provide information as to Past Events and Issues.

Cards 5 - 6: Indicate issues and events here and now.

Cards 7 - 9: Indicate events and issues which are in the future.

Card 10: Indicates the overall outcome.

Meditation and connecting with my spirit guides is an important part in providing a card reading for others, as alone the tarot cards are not enough. It is my connection with my guides that enables me to access my intuition and to receive thoughts, feelings and messages for the overall reading.

In addition to the PSY Card reading I also use the Healing with the Angel Cards by Doreen Virtue. This is a deck of 44 cards with beautiful imagery and includes a booklet with detailed information as to the meaning of each card. Each card has a name.

I have found that there is no right or wrong way in reading these cards and it is simply down to the individual to find the way in which they feel comfortable with. As long as you are able to give the messages to the recipient that the Angels provide. In my readings I ask the individual to shuffle and with images face down so they cannot be identified choose 6 cards. I spread these out side by side as I often find that one card links in to the other cards either side of it.

In my experience of giving card readings the Angel cards often mirror the direction of the reading of the PSY Cards however the Angel cards go on to give specific instruction and direction on how to resolve issues, provide inner strength and support or simply to provide reassurance and a little courage to face their challenges in life. They can also provide indication of future events and positive things on the way for the individual in the areas of life which it is felt that the individual needs change or support.

The most rewarding experience from reading Tarot cards is providing individuals with a sense of hope and renewing their purpose in life. They bring comfort and reassurance that we are not alone in life and that there is so much more to learn and discover about ourselves. This is but the very beginning.
